7月28日 This Week! so much to blog so little time to do it!The kinda quote I like:
The kinda life I live:
TUES Second day of taking bus to school (tried out 184)! Kinda like it cos it’s been a long time since I take a bus and blend into the crowd! Having not taken a bus for the past 5 years, I was kinda lost about the tapping of the e-z link card and forgot to tap before I alighted! :( I guess I have to pay for the max. fare for that short trip!
Walking halfway, there was a sudden downpour and I was all drenched… waited at the coffeeshop but no student offered to share their umbrella with me except steph but she is already sharing it with someone else already so I decided not to squeeze in… :) waited for a while before walking over.. saw w.r squeezing with ms kali and someone else with an umbrella but bcos of the height difference, they look so awkward and funny walking together. LOL!
Celebrated the July babies BD during home period… but the funny thing is this: the care reps and myself are more zealous about the celebration that we are celebrating for… they are so reluctant to take photos and blow the candles… as if we were torturing them by having a BD celebration for them! What an irony!
We had a fun time playing who wants to be a millionaire for CD period today… especially for the fastest finger first round! To qualify for the game, the team must recite the Pledge in less than 5 sec! Chinese and English version! Then they must sing the Pledge… LOL! The final team to represent the class for the finals during National Day celebrations was finally determined through scissors paper stone!
became a part of podcast 5 of 304 (click on the link at the side to go to their class blog to download if you can bother to do so!) i thought they did not record what i said but it turned out that they did and they modified it and censored what i said at the end... i am innocent! i did not say anything wrong lor! :P
went to LTA @ bishan after school to get my log card to sell away my old car... took 52 together with ces who happened to be going to her grandpa's place... had a long chat with her about her life and the class... it was a good time of catching up... :) along the way, i happened to see a car on tow.. guess what!? it's my car!! but the funniest thing is this: the windscreen is all scattered! what happened? one day after i handed in the car to the car dealer, he was driving it on the road when the bonnet (front cover) of the car flew up and smashed the windscreeen!! omg! I really must thank God that I handed the car earlier or my car will drop tremendously in value and i am thankful that the dealer is fine... :)
when i was coming back from there, i met a mad man on the bus... he was raising his hand and saying "yeah! national day!" and started singing some national day songs and keep pointing to the national day banners on the street... first time i see someone who is so "madly" patriotic! :P
WED
busy day... went to visit the student who was knocked down by the lorry @ NUH... Amazingly, none of her bones was fractured and she is conscious and can remember everything except the incident itself! Puay see and me had a nice time talking to her and making her laugh so that she will have a easier time there. The weird thing is this: for literature, she is currently reading a book that talks about a person who is knocked by a car and lost part of her memory! what a coincidence! anyway, we decided to play a prank on her classmates who are coming shortly: we asked her to pretend that she lost part of her memory and that she can not remember me... When her classmates saw her, she was so good in her acting that her classmates literally cried when she said that she cant rmb them! When we are about to leave back for sch, we finally cant take it and told them the truth... kinda naughty for us to play such a prank on the class but through this, she really can see how much she matters to the class and she is really touched with tears streaming down her eyes! :) take care and hope to see you back in school soon! :)
wanted to shave my hair this sun for children cancer society... but my wife said that i will look like duppy from seven dwarfs! LOL! :P
physix remedial was fun and enjoyable with "mother and daughter tag team" ! :)
helped z.q and j.k to burn the paper's edge for their project! they concluded that lighter is simply meant for a guy's hands! girls just cant handle them without getting burnt! ahahah! really meh!? i beg to differ! :P
went swimming with the kids today! it was so enjoyable playing with them! chris now know how to swim underwater! :)
THURS
went bugis with my wife to eat @ causeway bay cafe! yummy food and reasonable priced! we are kids free all thanks to Bo! :) it's a good break for both of us!
I might get into trouble bcos of a soccer match... not really my fault but what to do when someone mentioned that he informed me about it but i cant make it to refereee the match and i did not know that the higher authorities dont know about it! oh well, just have to learn from it and move on!
FRI
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ARIEL! SHE IS 2 YEARS OLD TODAY! 28 JULY! :D
happy birthday to melissa foo and mr nicholas liu who happens to have the same birthday as her! :)
chris has to wear specs cos he does not pass the vision test! poor thing! he is barely five!
:( just when i was teaching about lenses under physix recently!
getting my new car soon! in about 2 weeks time! :)
cant get extra tickets for actual NDP! :( anyone can spare me 2!? LOL! unlikely i guess! but if you really can, please tell me, k!? but anyway, the 4 tickets that i have are VIP seatings! so :D!! bcos of some special connections!! :P not from the sch so dont think otherwise!
:) take care people! 7月23日 Wed 2 Sun! it's getting longer isnt it!? LOL!The Kinda Quote that I like: Courage is fear that has said its prayers. The Kinda Life that I live: SUN goodbye SDP5287A! thank you for bringing me around so faithfully these past 5 years! so sorry for "disfiguring" you just one week before we say goodbye.. I hope your new master will take care of you as you travel overseas to a new country!
Yup! I will be without a car for about 3 weeks before my WISH comes true! not a easy decision to make (loads of calculations and market research to be done before buying cos i have a limited budget and i want the best deal!) learnt a lot in the process when i decided not to be paiseh to ask! do the same too in class alright!? you will learn a lot more! but then again, dont ask like a machine gun (esp 2 of them from 3/****! LOL!)... i need room to breathe...ahaha!
how to go to school by bus from sunset way ah!? oh no! i need to check it out! i think i can take 151, 154 or 184 is it!? so dont be surprised if i bump into some of you on the bus or walking to school! :D
SAT there's a new student today.. looks kinda like taufik.. dont know whether he sings like him too! anyway, loads of laughters teaching him and s.e and t.t as usual! my sat morning just brightens up bcos of you 2! :D
decided finally on which car to be getting... what is so coincidental is this: the day i knocked my car was the day that the sales person who attended to me knocked her head and had 3 stitches! :P
my wife and I have decided to switch over from singtel to starhub for our mobile and internet plans. their deals recently are simply more value for money! :D thinking of getting the Sony Ericsson K800i (3.2 mpixels!) cos we can get it at a much cheaper price! :D lobangs and the clever me! :P
no time to blog about fri, thurs and wed for now... gg off for soccer! Chris is yelling! :P later ba!
back again! :D ok where was I?
FRI having loads of fun teaching the classes these days cos I am kinda hyper! showed them loads of videos that i have! :D
The classes generally did not do too well for the recent physix test.. kinda worried for them not just in terms of physix but their studies as a whole... typed and printed out some articles that i hope will help them to study smart... shared with them about the left and right brain memory method too! too bad you cant transfer your short-term memory in your left brain to your long-term memory in your right brain by just simply sleeping on your right! if only faithful gravity can do the job of pulling the data down to the right brain! oh well, remember the price you need to pay: daily revision of a day's lessons by creating your own mindmaps, notes or blog or anything reflection records at all so that all that is fresh on your mind can be summarised and transformed to be your very own! you like your notes the best! :P jia you! :D
though it was hot and not easy to do any fruitful teaching at all, i enjoyed my time with 3/2 downstairs under the shade and saying what is in my heart to them... :D sincerely...
3/1: scolding you is just not the thing i would like to do to you... i hope you will listen and take heed of what i said to you this day and excel! jia you hao ma?
THURS i like using PBL (Problem Based Learning) to teach physix! it's so much more interesting and enriching for everyone! really really hope we can implement that for the other levels too! meanwhile, the sec 2 tablet classes are the pioneers to experience such a learning style! first in Singapore among all sec schs! be proud! :D what is it about? in short, it's about posing to them a real life problem that they have to solve as a team through research and activities! it's as real as it can get! e.g. design a lighting circuit for a newly wed couple (Ah Nan & Ah Hua) and calculating the monthly utility bill so that they can live comfortably in their new apartment.. next week, some of them are gg to build the actual model of the apartment! :D
Had a long chat with f.d... she came back to visit me and to consult me about her problems... shall not say a word here but i am glad my advice to her is sound and useful! :D had a short chat with k.y and w.t as well... if only i can just be a full time counsellor and just teach physix and not be involved in anything else!
played soccer with w.j, k.y and theo... my legs are crying out to kick ball so i happily obliged! hahhaha! not as good as before le... long time no play... getting rusty in skills and stamina! but nvm! I will train myself up again! I'd be back! :P
WED what happened ah!? i cant rmb a thing le... am i getting senile or something!? oops! :P
oh... i rmb something! i got for myself a new pet! a CRAYFISH! :D it's gorgeous isnt it!? LOL!
7月19日 Sun to TuesMy kinda quote:
My written voice:
SUN
went to b.t hawker centre after street soccer @ Ngee Ann Poly to celebrate Bo's BD! we ordered loads of food to such an extent that the person delivering the dish asked if we are sure about finishing all the food! :P met shana there! what a small world! :D had a hard trying to light the candles cos the fan was blowing and the kids were relentlessly blowing them off when it is lighted! it was an enjoyable experience to be celebrating BD at a hawker centre instead of a restaurant! unusual but unique experience! :D
then came the BANG! while turning out to the main road, i focused on the cars that are moving on the main road and forgot about the car in front of me! for the first time in my 5 years of driving, i made a LOUD BANG against the TAXI in front of me! the outcome: there was a tiny little crack on the TAXI's bumper while my front was pushed in and the 2 signal lights dropped out! that, to me, is miraculous! thank God that nothing really happened to the taxi (i just need to pay him $20 for compensation - which is very little when it comes to accidents) and everyone in the car is fine and i still can drive the car! the only thing now is that the signal lights are held in place with masking tape! and all these happened on the same day when i went to a car dealer to enquire about getting a new car... i guess my car is "angry" with me for forsaking it... LOL! now, it is more or less confirmed that i have to scrape my old car and buy a new one soon! :P WISH comes true... get the hint? :P
MON
my table was vandalised with crazy ribbons when i cam back to school! culprit: ms lim p.s!! taking revenge for what i did to her on fri! :/ anyway, i gathered all the crazy ribbons (dried up!) and kindly deposited it back on her laptop to share my shower of blessings! :P
went 2 holland v for their famous nasi lemak with w.r, x.j, a.l, s.m, c.t & d.g! amazingly, they all managed to squeezed into my car. LOL! had a good laugh talking to them over lunch... :D we shall eat laksa the next round!
went with Yvonne to Ghim Moh Sec for O levels Listening Compre invigilation.. the school is merging soon with another... so the student population was amazingly small.. about 20 plus students per class! what a nice and cosy number to have as a form class compared to 42... ahahha! but i still cherish every 42 of them lah! :P the passage was quite boring (shh! but easy to answer!).. i almost fell asleep while invigilating... had to walk around to keep myself awake... :P poor Yvonne had to stay back longer to do the Malay LC... she was like so lost during her invigilation cos she totally dont understand what was gg on... when the students laughed at the jokes by the radio DJs before the broadcast, she was like "right, right... that was funny isnt it? but i dont get it!" oh well, i have been through it bf... it's just part of the job! but at least, i understand a few words every here and there during the broadcast! :D
TUES
CD period on sexuality and dating: (after some open discussions)
girls want you to read between the lines, boys just speak to the point so the boys dont get it! :P
boys dont like girls who act cute! girls dont like boys at all! LOL!
3/4:
what does sushi A say to sushi B? what's up, B? (sounds like wasabi!)
what do you call dinosaur who is blind? Heneversaur (He never saw us!)
lame! :P
3/2:
they came in late as usual... :( i had a "bad day"! :P enjoyed it? :D
3/1:
FIFA best goals! oh how i love the way that keeper saved the goal! :D they are always drained out after their c***** lessons... had to keep them entertained to keep them awake!
had a talk with *.*... there is 2 ways to resolve a pressing crisis in your life: change the situation (by dropping things of lower priority) or change yourself to cope with the situation (by becoming stronger)... either way, YOU are the deciding factor! YOU have the CHOICE! :D 7月15日 Thurs to SatQuote to live by:
The greatest lesson to learn from history is that man don't learn from history! history always repeat itself! stubborn old man! when will we ever learn? :P

deeply impressed by the solutions offered by 212 for the problem given in PBL! Thoroughly enjoyed the lesson! one of the best lesson ever in my teaching career! :D i guess me teaching u listening isnt the best model 4 learning! u learning me guiding is even better! :D
had a fruitful session with k.y and r.l today... exchange of worries, concerns, questions and advice... meaningful and sweet.. :D
Fri
Silence is beautiful in a noisy class like 3/*... ahahah... when they quieten down to take their physix test, I could hear the crickets sing... really wonderful! and it's only heard in their class alone... :D
p.s' b.d today... 212 invited me to join them for the celebration! so i happily went along and sprayed loads of crazy ribbons on her....oops! i can always do that to her every year but she can't do it to me cos my b.d is in dec... no sch then! :P but me so envious of the cake and present that she is getting from her class! :P
Sat
Had a fun time teaching @ Solomon today... silly s.e and t.t kept teasing me about having an e.m.a! come on! what a thing to say! I'm innocent, ok!? :P
family trip to qian hu fish mart! simply wonderful! loads of fishes to see! the owner is one impressive entreprenaur to learn from... there are loads of articles about him @ the fishmart! came across one that says "lesson from my mum: stay cute always! be cuter as you grow older so that you can be accepted by the younger generations!" hmmm... sounds like me, isn't it!? LOL! :D
7月12日 4 million smilesA.C.E are all in for the "4 million smiles" Singapore Project!
check it out:
Can you spot all 3 of them? :D Sat to WedQuote of the day:

MOE EXCEL FEST once again... not much "business" lor... barely have any "customers" to share about our interesting project of using 3G handphones + blogging for students to do research on a physix topic. Videos and Blog Entries are sent in through the phones using 3G tech and SMS! cool, right!? :P
Discovered that i have a distant relative in sch: L.S.X from 211! She is my wife's sister's husband's cousin! took a photo with her as evidence! :D
Sun
met some of my 4/3'05 people @ Solomon. Really nice to see them face to face again :D J.Y seem to have a sticky situation that she needs my advice to solve... yet to find out fully about it but i guess it may not be that easy to resolve ba... just hope that history will not repeat itself...
went to Ngee Ann to play soccer ytd.. there's a nice new street soccer court there! but it was pouring ytd so we did not manage to play for long before we see flashes of lightning that sent us fleeing to the shelters.
Here's the BIGGEST coincidence: i was wearing a blue Italia t-shirt with the no. 3 on it and the team i was in are all wearing blue. In one of the matches, i managed to score the winning goal that send a team wearing white out. In the finals between Italy and France, the last person to knock France out in the penalty shoot-out is Grosso, bearing jersey no. 3! LOL! :P Ekklesia woke up in the middle of the night too and watched the match together with me! :D
Mon
Met 2/9 for the first time for PBL.. quite an interesting class… but I wished I was teaching 2/10 instead cos I miss them much… hahaha :D
Was a bit annoyed by 3/2 during lesson time… they are talking away and cant really be bothered again… told them if they cant be bothered, then they can jolly well go down earlier for lunch… so that those who wanna learn can concentrate better… they kinda like shut up after that and tried to concentrate… appreciate that! :D but I hope that it will just come automatically one day…
Lab time with 3/3… this class is beginning to be cheekier these days… opening their mouths more often and getting vocal… it’s noisier this way but at least there is some interaction between them and me… not “silent hill” anymore :D
Tues
Showed the classes the “cool pool” video… a beautiful demo of physix at work (momentum, the law of reflection and dynamics) :D
Supposed to referee the match between Nan Hua and New Town but I ended up playing instead! :D played as midfielder instead of striker but it’s ok cos I assisted in the last goal that equalized our score with NT (4-4). Took a corner kick that hit the vertical crossbar!! What a pity!! Would be great if I could have scored from a corner kick! Finished the game by penalty. NH won 5-3! :D
There is another match coming this fri and next tues! If all goes well, be prepared to have a soccer clinic for boys and girls, where I will be the coach!! :D Soccer, the most beautiful and exciting game in the whole wide world!!
Thanks w.r for the reminder... hope you will heed mine too! :)
Wed
needed to talk to some people... they are troubled by stuff... managed to talk to someone today.. :D at least 2 more to go... as much as i hope to help all of my students, i am limited by time and space... can't be everywhere all the time.. cant helped everyone... if you think you need my advice or help, please feel free to just approach me... sorry if i neglected some or not sensible enough to pick up some people who are troubled... i am but a human too... :)
sonia tested me about "fuzzy wazzy likes green but not pink, likes loillpop but not candy, likes apple but not orange..." and i got the answer to why it is so!! so she and sarah promised to study hard for the coming physix test! :D
People asked why I am so happy these days… my answer is simple… not becos of anything at all… you can have all the money in the world and still be unhappy… to be happy, you just have to CHOOSE to be happy, that’s all! It’s your choice and does not really depend on anything at all… :D easier said than done? Well, at least I succeeded in doing this for now… btw, there's an invisible smiley face on my left hand! (see photo! - not something new but whateva!)
Jenny shared with about this joke that a student made: people always spell physics as physic..(without the 's')!! so a student tried to rmb to include the 's' by spelling it this way: PHYCIS! (sounds likes "faeces"!!) me, a "faeces" teacher!? LOL! :D
7月8日 Thurs Aftermath to FriQuote of the day:
A clue about my life:
A twist of events… the soccer match was cancelled cos it did not receive the approval from someone… :/ the match will be postponed to next tues instead..
w.r informed me that there was a netball friendly bet. NH and BB but I had to go home early cos the kids are running a fever… ariel was running a very high fever… 39.4deg… she was standing at the balcony, looking out for a moment before she started crying for no reason… I went to hug her and sat with her on the crouch but she was not responding… placed her on the mattress to pat her to sleep, then something terrible happened…
She started to shiver and shake about vigorously and suddenly she went blank… she just stared into space with totally no reaction at all… omg!! We suddenly realized that she is having fits bcos of the fever!! We quickly rushed her to one of our family doctor, praying hard that she will not be mentally affected by the fits… when I was carrying and running to the clinic, tears inevitably were streaming down my eyes cos I was so worried what is going to happen to her and at the same time, feeling sad that such a thing has to happen to her at such a tender age… The doctor told us to sponge her at the clinic until her temp is down… when it finally came down, she was still in a daze and seem to only repeat whatever I say to her… she does not have any response of her own… I tried to test her out at the supermarket by asking her about the fruits… she only repeated after me: apple, orange… apple, orange… finally, when I passed her a kiwi fruit and ask her about it, she replied “KIWI”!! I was so relieved upon hearing that! At least she is recovering.. but she did not smile at all and fell asleep shortly after that … it was only at night that she finally recovered back fully and spoke to us and smiled and started asking for food… thank God she is fine now… don’t know what I am going to do if anything happens to her… phew… :) she is so precious to me… in fact, all three of them are… I am so blessed to have them as my kids… :)
FRI
Did SPA practical with 3/1 and 3/4.. was hurrying them cos of the early dismissal today… 3/4 had only 15 mins to do their pract… ended up having to eat into their recess so as to finish it up… halfway through, most of the class went out of the lab to watch the lower sec in their NDP performance… when they were about to leave, f.l asked if she could pull the lever for the shower in the case of chemical spill… I said, “go ahead if you dare…” she PULLED!! The floodgates were opened! Water started gushing down like a waterfall… I waited for a while thinking that it will stop, only to realized that the lever needs to be pushed up to stop the water… pushed up the lever eventually, with a pool of water below… she ended up having to mop the floor… it’s all part of the training, right, BY? LOL!… only the relevant people will get it… :P
The whole family went for joshua’s bdae party @ west coast mac… he’s 5 now! They had quite a lot of fun there playing musical chair and eating the bdae cakes… it was wicky’s 34th birthday as well… ahahha… he has an ice cone on his cake as part of the décor… nice! :D met mr yeo and mr see as well… they went jogging @ west coast… their IPPT are coming, that explains why they are “training so hard”! I’m also training myself up recently after watching all those soccer matches… wanna be super fit to play soccer once again… wanna regain back my 8 abs muscles… they are fading away le… ahahha… starting it slow though… doing 40 sit-ups and crouches and 15 push-ups everyday before I have my dinner… slow and steady win the race :D
If things can go according to plan, I hope to be the coach of NH soccer team! :D
MOE EXcel Fest was tiring... but i had fun printing the banner for our booth :) excuse me, can you hear me!? 7月6日 ThursQuote of the day:

Just finished watching Portugal vs France! PORTUGAL played brilliantly!! They deserved to win if not for that penalty!! So many goals opportunities that they wasted... especially that free kick by C.Ronaldo!! :/
I hope they will beat Germany and be 3rd!! :D
A long day ahead... yawn... hope i can sustain through... I will be refereeing a soccer match this afternoon between Nan Hua and New Town... ahahha... hope i will be able to do a good job and not kayu!! Would LOVE to PLAY the game instead if i had the choice!! :D
7月5日 First Half of Term 3 Week 2 :DQuote of the h-week:

Mon
Went to science centre with my family to watch T-rex movie :D and had lunch @ mac! nice time of enjoying time together as a family! :D
Went on later on a solo trip with Chris to watch SUPERMAN RETURNS @ JEC. It's was a nice and long movie! brings back all the memories of this childhood superhero of mine!! Chris enjoyed the movie very much!! when Superman discovered that he now has a son and he quoted this profound statement of "the son will become the father and the father will become the son", there is this unusual warmness and bonding between me and Chris all of a sudden. I suddenly feel so happy about the fact that i have a son! and i have the opportunity to guide and lead my son to be an greater blessing to the people around him than I am now... :D
Tues
We are supposed to do about BGR and Sexuality during CD Periods for term 3. Got the boys and girls in the class to brainstorm about questions that they would like to ask about the opposite sex. The boys came up with really silly questions like why do girls dare to go for plastic surgery but yet be afraid of the crocoach?! ahaha.. i await the answers from the girls... Are girls and boys different when it comes to watching world cup!? girls watched the match for those "pretty boys" and feel sad when their fav. teams lose. boys watched the match with a sense of responsibility that they are part of the team and the victory of the team all depends on how hard they concentrate and direct the ball to goals! :D ahahaha...
Ben and his team of interviewers came back to sch to do some interview for their project work about the way sexuality education is done in schs. so coincidental to be doing something related to that this morning... when the questions came and the camera started rolling, i surprisingly babbled on pretty much about the topic! told them my pt of view: there is actually no use telling students about the factual part of sexuality and simply just telling what is the right thing to do... the students know more about what teachers can imagine and they know what is right and what is wrong... but yet some will still choose to do the wrong things not because they do not know enough but because they do not have enough love. They are often not loved and dont know how to love others.. they are sometimes misled by the media to think that love can be obtained through sex and not realised that such a search will leave them as empty and have more hurt than before.. If there is an education that should be taking place, it should be love education, not sex education!! XP better not rattle on and make this a GP essay!! ahahha..
cas and i.s seemed to be out of their minds... they laughed badly upon seeing me... :P Chris is learning to swim on his own! :D
Wed
woke up @ 445am just in time to watch the extra time between Germany and Italy.. Italy is evidently a much better team, building up attacks patiently... the Germans were lucky to escape a few goals when the ball hit the vertical and horizontal bars... but in the end, their luck ran out and the goals came within a few minutes towards the end of the extra time! the 2 goals were brilliant!! into the bottom left and top right hand corner of the goal post!! such goals are almost impossible to save!!
Tomorrow is Portugal vs France. I believe Portugal will win France cos they are the underdogs!! In this world cup, all the less favoured teams are all causing major upsets in the betting world bcos of the unexpected outcome!! Fortunately, I dont bet on any of the matches at all cos I have realised the deadly effect that gambling can bring, no matter how small the amount... :P
go PORTUGAL! :D my heart still likes Brazil and Argentina though!
7月2日 First Week of SchoolQuote of the week:
A clue about my life: Busy week... dead tired almost every night.. slept real early... that's why i didn't blog or go online... ahahha :P
People in 3/1 and 3/4 are telling me that i am getting old... i can actually forget what i taught the class and wanted to start teaching it again.. i can just forget about my tablet PC for a long while before i realised that i left it in class.. what i say doesn't seem to match what i think... :/
But there are also others who make me think that i appear younger.. still rmb recently a waiter in sakae sushi asked if i was there for the student buffet... the mother and sister of a student of mine thought that i was the bf of a student cos i happen to be sitting next to her during a concert... ahahahha :P
As i am blogging, I cant really rmb what happened in my life this week!! probably too many exciting events or too boring, that's why!! need the help of the photos i took to recall... hmm...
bought a cake on tues to celebrate the june babies' bdaes! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO LETTS, JASPER and WAN TING! :) forgot to buy servettes so we improvise once again by tearing the cake box into pieces to act as servettes! rather innovative and environmentally friendly i must say! got "warned" later on for allowing them to play netball after that and not following the syllabus for CD periods. :P GTO strikes again!
there are 2 giant balloons floating outside the staff room bcos of NDP media press. big and cute! :D
SJAB acpc on thurs: congrats to all the sec 3 cadets who offically received their appointments! congrats to y.f for becoming the new chairperson. :D really wish they all the best for the coming year as they become the new exco committee to run the corps! continue to be SERVING WITH PASSION!! i am glad that i started this important motto that i hope will really make the corps EXTRAordinary from the rest! :D
SJAB day on fri: had to wear full U... received lots of comments about how i look -.- some said that i look like a traffic summon attendant, some a security guard, some a nurse... basically, i became a laughing stock! :P anyway, this is the last time i will be wearing it... cos i am gg to be transferred out of SJAB to another CCA le. although it is most likely to be ITMC, i may end up taking charge of a team sports CCA, which is what i prefer (not that i dont like SJAB or ITMC but i like the actions, thrills and atmosphere of sports competitions). If only there is soccer in NH... that would be SO wonderful! maybe the guys in our school can appeal to ms yeo to start it as a student initiaited programme!? :D
started PBL with 212 this week! kinda exciting cos it's a totally new way of teaching and learning... 3.5 hours of science at one go per week! cool, isn't it!? ahahha... students are given a problem to solve in teams... they have tablet PCs to do all the necessary research and presentations... they can venture to various parts of the school for discussion and need not stay in the classroom...the teachers dont teach anymore but act as facilitators!? why the change!? cos we wanna prepare them for the real working world where there is no guidance even but purely self directed learning and team work to solve a problem or project. it's do or die! that, in a sense, is the harsh reality of the real world! :P
i finally got my chocs from europe! thanks to ms ace's bro who ate up part of what was meant to be mine, i get the mozart choc as a compensation! :D gave a g?? stick to w.r cos she was so efficient in collecting money for the green book! i know who to find when i need to collect money from 3/2! :D
ariel finally learnt how to sit on the swing all by herself now! :D
watched Ger vs Arg, Eng vs Port and Bra vs Fra @ l.y's house on fri and sat night!! so sad that Arg lost to Ger!! all bcos of the replacement of the goalkeeper! :/ so happy that Portugal beat Eng!! :D Eng played well in the match with 10 man but i still prefer Portugal!! :P so sad that Bra lost to France too!!! but France was really in top form against Brazil. the goal scored by Henry was brilliant i must say!! one thing very impressive about the Brazilians is this: even though they lost, you dont see them in tears... i guess they managed to treat victories or defeats as part and parcel of life! dont need to take it too hard! try again 4 years later!! :D
went with 210 for SYF on sat!! from 1145am to about 9 pm!! I had a great time there watching the performance, feeling the atmosphere, talking to countless people, playing chai quan with the dancers and most imptly, putting MAKE-UP for the students!! YES! i know what i can be if i ever quit as a teacher! a make-up artise! i learnt it on the spot by observing how rebecca did it and just pick up from there to do the eye-shadows for many of them!! :D helped the guys to gel and comb their hair as well! it's very fun and challenging cos i felt as if i was making a masterpiece on each person's face! :D chris and ekklesia came for the performance with my wife as well! they took the bus back to sch with 210!! only on the bus did they finally warmed up and played with them! they were so shy when they were at the stadium!! it's always very overwhelming for them when they are spotted as they are usually swarmed by instant "fans" who will be trying so hard to get their attention and to talk to them! :P ahahha
6月27日 Redang TripRating: 9/10 (minus 1 bcos of the bad sunburns that i have on my back... hahahha!)
The price to paid: $270 (3 days 2 nights, inclusive of transport, ferry, lodging, food and snorkeling to sea!!) + 12 hours journey on a coach!! (but it's worth it!)
the most memorable:
the crystal-clear sea, filled with colourful fishes!! swimming among them is simply fabulous!!
we managed to catch a clownfish (Nemo!) and i have to swim a long distance with it in a bread wrapper to show it to the kids before putting it back to its home again (coral reef)...
there is this island which has a valley in between it... at the other side, the sea is about 45 m deep and is full of sharks during the monsoon season!!
the water for bathing and consumption is actually from the mountain...
the sand on the beach is super fine and white!
i caught a crab while swimming in the sea!
we saw baby sharks and a baracuda!! 'live' within reaching distance!
A.C.E all enjoyed themselves very much!! picking seashells and swimming in the sea!!
I would wanna go again!! :D 6月22日 Wed and ThursQuote of the day:
A clue about my life:
it was 3/1 class chalet ytd!! :) was running late so the organising commitee had to wait for me to check in.. used all the loose dollars and coins of the class funds to pay for a one night stay at a duplex unit (E7 by the sea)... so paiseh... but then again... it's legal tender mah... so dump them all in for payment... :P
had fun cycling... rented from WIMBLEDON bicycle kiosk... it's really cheap to rent from there!! $8 for overnight rental of a mountain bike!! where to find!? :) rented a double bicycle cos Ces doesn't know how to cycle... the seat for the bike is so hard and the gears are all spoilt... :/ had a hard time cycling around.. but anyway, we went to bedok jetty and the ski park.. :) helped to start the bbq fire... and started cooking satay and otah.. it smells so nice and taste so yummy!! i found a part-time job to do when i retire!! sell otah and satay!! :) do you know there is a singaporean who only have to work a few hours a night selling satay and earn $500 a day and stays in a ranch in australia!? hahahah :)
played zhong ji mi ma with some of them... we were watching singapore idol and we decided to let the forfeit be singing!! had to do the forfeit twice.. more of a treat to their ears than forfeit, isn't it!? :P
ok, i am almost ready to go off to Redang island!! won't be back until SUN night!! work hard, people! you have only a few days to finish up your HW or study for your common tests!!! JIA YOU!! i will, meanwhile, be snorkeling in the crystal clear waters... :) the only pitiful thing is there is no TV reception there... no World Cup for these few days.. ahahha... doesn't matter so long as argentina, portugal and brazil are in for the next round!! :P
6月21日 Mon and TuesThought of the day:
Courtesy “What a great way to greet another person,” I thought to myself as two Japanese business men approached each other with a slight bow. I wasn’t hearing some cliché greeting filled with insincere flattery, but witnessing a genuine act of courtesy. A clue about my life:
Went to watched CARS with my family @ west mall ytd... a wonderful show indeed! nice and meaningful!! it reminds me of what i told 3/1 THAT day... so what if some of them did well for their exams? It would have been more beautiful if everyone could have helped each other out and do well together! Winning the race is not everything, helping others to finish it IS! yup! that's one valuable reminder that i gained from watching this movie! :) watching it with my kids isn't really that smooth sailing... they take turns to do "big and small business" throughout the show, complained that they are hungry and demanded for milk, then food... and chris asked countless number of "why" during the whole show... omg! but i still enjoyed it anyway!! if you have not watched, do go and watch it!! and do stay until the credits are over... there's a little surprise at the end... hahaha... not gg to tell you what... :P
went with my whole family to sentosa the whole day to bring a brother (in Christ) from Germany out.. it was simply wonderful!! tried the Sentosa Luge and Skyride with Ekklesia!! very exciting and thrilling indeed!! :) i actually took a footage of the whole ride on video while i was gg down the slope!! went to dolphin lagoon and underwater world as well... there was a nice display of fishes and sea creatures :) met the itmc people (who were there for their Amazing Race) and the Guzheng people (who were there for an outing)!! such a small world! :) finally went for the musically fountain and took the cable car back to mainland! :) Singapore, by night, at such a height, is just fabulous! :)
Now, where am i!? hahaha... just finished watching Ger vs Euc @ l.y's house :) b.r and b.g are staying over to study and watch world cup together... so i tagged along to watch with them too! more interesting that way than to watch it all by myself! :) next match: Eng vs Sweden! until then... :)
wow! managed to stay awake to watch the 3am match!! It was a great match! fast paced and exciting!! too bad it's a draw!! :P
6月19日 Sat and Sun :DStory of the day:
Courage Very few people get the opportunity and privilege to have an impact. I like to think that each day I do my job in some small way I have changed something for the better. It doesn't need to be anything huge; when I was six it was as simple as getting my cat from the top of a tree. What equated to moments out of a normal day for this man became something extraordinary to me.
A clue about my life:
SAT
Went to plaza sing with my family and Bo for shopping :D we met w.r, s.m and a couple of netballers there... they were having their marathon netball competition... from 9am SAT to 5pm SUN... wow! what a way to play!? one of their match is like 12 midnight!! hahaha! :P they did not get into the finals but they won many of their matches!! :)
There was the arts festival performance gg on at the same time... we had lots of fun participating in the performances... :)
SUN
Went for Music Clinic 3rd Ann. Celebration Concert... saw lots of superstars and upcoming artistes there... i think i had an overdose of them and their singing after the whole event is finally over after 3 hours.. watched the concert with alex, willard (whom i got to know today) and 2 of c.t's or x.j's friends and ms ace. we were there to support c.t and x.j in their performance.. they got 3rd! :)
went to Bo's house for potluck dinner today... bbq and lots of food to feast upon... i am so bloated after stuffing myself with so much yummy food! me and A.C.E were watching world cup together for a while... they seem to like the game as well!! hahaha... Chris said that he likes the blue team (Japan) over the white team (Croatia)... oh well, i did not get to finish the match... wonder who won!?
6月16日 Thurs AGAIN to FRIQuote of the day: It is very difficult to live among people you love and hold back from offering them advice.
You only live your life once. live it as if there is no tomorrow! Carpe Diem! :)
A clue about my life:
met w.r, s.m, sam and c.l for their long awaited treat @ sakae sushi for helping me out in the painting of the tuition centre. :) It was a great time of feasting!! we ate countless number of plates and played zhong ji mi ma and ate even more!! the last sushi was coated with lots of wasabi! poor sam has to finish it up! i guess we won't have sushi for a long long time!! hahahaha :P
campfire night was great! :) the skit put up by the trainers was so funny!! I like their skit on the visa commercial (the release of the birds with richard gere)!! they are fantastic with their indian accent and their acting as the birds! hahhaha.. :P
paid a visit to 4/5'05 bbq at l.y's house together with h.h as well... her house is so humongous (with their own bbq pit, swimming pool & clubhouse) and they have like 7 to 8 sports and luxurious cars!? omg! talk about choices... :P but one thing that i am most impressed is actually not all these stuff that she has but how l.y remains ordinary and humble and she is not proud just bcos she is rich.. it was nice to be catching up with them again.. :) managed to watched the world cup there too! :)
The camp is ending today!! happy to be able to be back home again... but sad cos the camp was great!! really thankful to the organising committee for their great planning and hard work! the trainers (sec 3) were fantastic too!!
The next thing to look forward to: the class chalet and the trip to redang!! :)

Fire drill @ 1 am on tues night and 1:30 am on wed night to train the level of alertness and responsiveness of our SJAB cadets... poor things lah... all looked so "stone"... but all these are part of training, ya?! :P

I find that taking photos of the netball rim can be artistic! :P
Campfire's burning tonight.. :)

received the chocs from x.j this morning! yummy! :D thanks! 6月10日 Sat - NDP RehearsalQuote of the day:
Courage is, with love, the greatest gift. We are, each of us, defeated many times - but if we accept defeat with cheerfulness, and learn from it, and try another way - then we will find fulfilment.
Encounters:
went to plaza sing on fri night.. was trying to search for a kid's guitar for christian.. he seem to love playing the instrument so we thought letting him to learn it from young... but they only have it @ parklane :(
had a fun time shopping @ Carrefour... bought lots of dried fruits and nuts for mixing and eating... cheaper and nicer that way! :) took some candid shots of the kids... saw the actress irene gan who was q-ing in front of us...

People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing. That's why we recommend it daily. - Zig Ziglar
Encounters:
family outing day finally!! after having sch events and remedials since sch holidays started... went to east coast park bcos chris requested it... we cycled and tried catching fish by the breakwaters... managed to catch a tiny little fish :) decided to bring it home... it was a test of my driving... cos the bucket of water with the fish is not covered... so i must drive steadily enough so as not to spill the water... feel like the training scenario in the initial D movie... hahaha..
tmr there's cluster electronics camp for the sec 4... went back to sch at 6 pm to touch up for the lecture tmr... it's me teaching again... being doing that for the past 2 years le... aiyo! why me again?! hahaha.. but i LOVE teaching PHYSIX lah... =P what to do!? papaphysix in action! :) first time ever, i was the last to leave the school... no soul around at all... for once, i can experience a quiet and peaceful nan hua... =P

LOL! ;) Many Days until Today, Tues... LOL!Quotes of the day:
The deepest principal in human nature is the craving to be appreciated. If you treat an individual as if they were what they ought to be and could be, they will become what they ought to be and could be.
There is no stimulus like that which comes from knowing that others believe in you. There is no investment you can make which will pay you so well as your effort to scatter sunshine and good cheer where ever you are.
Applaud them when they run, console them when they fall, and cheer them when they recover.
As water is to a flower -- So is praise to the heart of another. Encounters: too busy and lazy to blog these days... cos blogging is very time consuming actually!! :P decided to post more pics instead... they are all worth a thousand words mah.. =P went to the kids fest on sat @ acs baker rd!! their school is so big!! much much better than nan hua!! their canteen stalls are just like those in the foodcourts.. so many variety! they dont pay by cash.. they pay by some electronic paying system designed by a company called CHOWiz!! LOL!! went for the PC show on Sun!! so many people!! omg!! it's crazy!! people mountain people sea!! bought a 1 GB MS Pro Duo for my phone for $65.. quite a good buy i must say... with that, it means i can store loads of songs and photos on my phone! yeah!! also went with my family to marina square as well... we bought tulips to raise funds for the children cancer society...and ate genki sushi after that!!
